Crackberry Complaint

Dear Alisa and Gina,

I was buying a cup of tea the other day and the two people ahead of me in line were talking to each other about the demonstrations in Iran, they were also both comparing twitters on their iPhones. What they weren’t doing was paying attention to the woman who was getting their coffee and breakfast. They were in a kind of isolation booth. They were twice asked if they wanted anything else and then when they didn’t respond, they were asked to pay the bill. The man had a $10 in his hand but it was insufficient, which he would have known if he’d been listening. The third person with them made bemused eye contact with me and nudged him. I was amazed and furious. What should I have said? ~

This is really difficult since this kind of situation can provoke a lot of emotions and stories about what’s happening. These are just your own stories and may have nothing to do with the people in line.  Really the best thing to do is to just watch and learn. We can all be more “awake” to what is going on around us. ~ Alisa

How about "Excuse me, she's trying to serve you your food." Then enjoy a good, shared eye-roll with the server all the while thinking, "Those annoying people. The nerve!" ~ Gina
