Resolutionary Thoughts

It’s the New Year. Have you made any resolutions? Do you ever? Are you so burned out on “to do” lists that you’ve sworn off of adding anything else?

In the past year the notion of starting again and setting intentions for my thoughts and actions has become more interesting to me. The dictionary defines a resolution as a course of action that has been decided on or determined. An intention is a course of action that one intends to follow or an aim that guides action. There is something more forgiving about setting an intention; it doesn’t feel burdensome and it doesn’t feel judgmental.

Adding a bit of focus to your desires makes them more powerful and more likely to happen. Being aware of when and how we stray from our intentions can also provide us with important learning. ~ Alisa

I love resolutions. I make them every day. I break them every day, too. I am a mass of unfinished stuff. But the good news is, there’s always toilet paper and the cats are always fed. So at least I have my priorities straight. ~ Gina
